20 out of the 60 trophies stolen from the Red Bull Racing factory in Milton Keynes have been found in a lake near Sandhurst.
After a gang of 6 burglars drove two vehicles to the building and smashed the glass entrance of the factory in Milton Keynes with a silver 4×4 Jeep and made away with 60 trophies on Saturday, December 6, 2014, Thames Valley Police has revealed that 20 of the awards were recovered on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, in a lake near Sandhurst.
According to reports, The Thames Valley Police said many of the trophies found were damaged but Red Bull team principal, Christian Horner is still devastated over the senseless crime committed by the unknown burglars.
‘The fact that some of the trophies were discarded in a lake and damaged shows how senseless this crime was.
‘While the trophies mean an enormous amount to the team, their intrinsic value is low – and the extent of the damage that was caused to the factory by the offenders during the break-in was significant.
‘Hopefully we can get the trophies back to our factory where they belong and get replicas made of those that we can’t.’
