According to reports in the Spanish media, the announcement is yet to be made official but Real Madrid president, Florentino Pérez admitted to members of the regional government that the stadium will be renamed Abu Dhabi Bernabeu by their sponsors, the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) according to the deal entered into back in October 2014 which will see the club receive €20m a year.
The iconic stadium, which was opened in 1947 and named after the club’s former chairman, Santiago Bernabeu Yeste, will undergo some renovation towards remodelling.
