As the year 2015 runs out, THENET.NG honours some of our celebrities by bringing you a list of some of the popular Nigerians who have died so far in the year 2015.
Their deaths sure did come as a shock to everyone.
1. Muna Obiekwe
The year 2015 started on sad note for Nigerian entertainment when a Nollywood actor, Muna Obiekwe lost his battle with kidney disease. Muna died on Sunday, January 18, 2015. He was 36.

2. Peter Bunor

The veteran actor, popular for playing the role of a godfather or head of mafia rings in several Nollywood movies reportedly died of complications resulting from an ailment believed to be stroke that he had to battle for the last few years of his life.
The Delta State-born actor was declared dead on Friday, May 1, 2015 by his son, Peter Bunor Jnr.

3. Mufutau Sanni Adio (Ajigijaga)

The popular Yoruba actor died on Friday, July 31, 2015, at his residence in Agege, Lagos following injuries he sustained from an accident he was involved in. Ajigijaga died at the age of 60.

4. Dan Maraya

Adamu Wayya, popularly called Dan Maraya Jos was reported reported dead on Saturday June 20, 2015.
The veteran musician passed away at the age of 69 after a brief illness in B’ukur, near Jos in Plateau State.

5. Sylvester ‘Sly’ Ojigbede

Classic FM OAP, Sylvester Ojigbede, fondly called ‘Sly‘ by colleagues and listeners, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, May 4, 2015.
Until his death, the suave presenter anchored the morning shows as well as the Classic X-Press on the urban radio station notable for creating nostalgic feelings among listeners.

6. Dede One

The Nollywood comic actor was reported dead after battling with high blood pressure on Monday morning, December 14.

7. Ozor Akubueze

The Nollywood actor died on Friday, July 10, 2015 in Enugu state.
According to previous reports, Akubueze who has featured in several Nollywood movies underwent surgery in 2014, with the bills covered by the AGN.
The veteran actor passed away in his seventies following the long-time battle with pancreas disease.
8. Ooni of Ife

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade died at aged 85.
The paramount ruler of Ile-Ife, which is one of the biggest towns in Osun State and also widely regarded as the cradle of the Yoruba race, died on the night of Tuesday, July 27, 2015.

9. Fashola Ogunremi (Inspector Skede)

Fashola Funsho Ogunremi popularly known as ‘Inspector Skede’ passed on September 10, 2015.
Skede is well known for playing the role of a police officer thus the stage name Inspector Skede.
He reportedly battled two deadly diseases, congestive cardiac failure and diabetics, with both ailments said to have left a big hole in his pocket.
