It appears the news of Burna Boy and his dad’s Sunday arrest is false.
Although the blogs would make you believe otherwise, Netng has confirmed from Lagos Police that they do not have the Grammy-nominated artiste in their custody.
The public relations officer for the force in Lagos, Bala Elkana, a deputy superintendent of police, told our correspondent ‘they just recycled an old story. There was something that happened a very long time ago and it was resolved then. It’s not a recent event… But we don’t have him in our custody. He wasn’t arrested yesterday, we don’t even have complaints against him from yesterday’.
In a phone conversation, he suggested the video in circulation is an old clip, and that the issues have since been resolved.
What was the issue? Burna’s neighbours were fed up with his alleged misdemeanours, and took a decision to call the cops in. Some even compared him to another celebrity neighbour, footballer, Odion Ighalo, who according to them, was fittingly behaved.
There’s been no word about the arrest yet from Burna or his reps.
