Following the news of the purported arrest of Nigerian trans icon, internet personality and beautician, Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky for allegedly proclaiming himself gay, the Lagos State Acting Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi has clear the air of the matter.
“I don’t know about the arrest, and the command did not arrest him. He does not have any problem with the command. Ask him who arrested him.” Edgal said.
More so, the Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, SP Dolapo Badmos, also denied the arrest of the cross-dresser.
She said: “I am not aware of the arrest. Maybe he was arrested by somewhere else.”
On Tuesday, there was rumour that queen of Snapchat, Bobrisky was arrested and detained at a Lekki Police Station for allegedly portraying himself as gay in a post he later deleted.
The post, according to reports reads; “All this house boys and girls coming to drop comment on page are you all stupid? Do you think your hate comments can change me? Why are you trying so hard to get my attention?… If all your insult bothered me, I should have stopped posting here. Yes am gay, I will go to hell fire. Thanks. Please what else? I’m tired of those same words. I wanna hear something new.”
Another report also speculated that the bleaching cream merchant was arrested for his social media battle, alongside socialite Toyin Lawani, which Lawani has also denied.
