To say recent exchanges between eccentric actress and music star-wannabe, Tonto Dikeh and her erstwhile friend and fashion designer, Toyin Lawani, are dramatic is stating the obvious.
The two, almost controversial on equal terms when cognisance is taken of antecedents, began washing their dirty linen in public sometime last week.
But while not apportioning blame, there are a few points to note in the latest celebrity beef.
Do it anywhere else other than social media platforms
It is not the first time popular people, as Toyin and Tonto are in their own rights, would fight dirty. But no matter what you say about D’Banj and Don Jazzy, they were at least classy enough to do most of the exchanges through e-mails and talking to associates and advisers.
Make professional things really professional
When it comes to transactions and sales especially, why doesn’t everyone stick to the rules of payment in the strict sense of it and not allow sentiments to cloud the rules?
Always look at the legal angle of dealings
It comes to the fore in such situations that as much as these guys want you to believe they have people managing them, they don’t do such really.
You would easily hear them talk about reps, advisers, lawyers, managers and all but like that song of Eldee’s, it is all wash!
All the pontificating and show-off aside, Tonto Dikeh really owes people
This is not by any means saying Tonto is the guilty one in this episode but hey, if she could admit by saying ‘my address remains the same, come and take your money,’ then it’s an admission that she has money to pay her friend-turned-foe.
And trust me, Toyin is not the first to complain somewhere somehow that Tonto Dikeh is slow to pay for services rendered.
