The event which took place on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Silverbird Galleria in Victoria Island Lagos, had in attendance COSON Chairman, Tony Okoroji, General Manager, Creative Development, Silverbird Communications Ltd. Jacob Akinyemi-Johnson, General Manager of Silverbird Communications Ltd, Bola Salako, CEO Storm 360, OBI Asika , members of the COSON Board and media practitioners.
Speaking at the signing ceremony COSON Chairman, Okoroji said the event was as result of both parties’ love and dedication to the rapid development of the entertainment industry in Nigeria and the establishment of best practices in the industry.
Jacob Akinyemi Johnson speaking on behalf of Silverbird, added that Silverbird is proud to be part of the revolution in the music industry being initiated by COSON.
A few months ago, COSON had slammed Silverbird Communications Ltd. With a N3bn lawsuit for an alleged unpaid royalties and damages ‘for the unauthorized copying, broadcast and infringement of the copyright in the musical works and sound recordings belonging to COSON members.
