Ukrainian Premier League club, FC Chernomorets Odessa is offering players luxury homes for their unpaid salaries.
The club currently is facing financial setbacks due to lack of sponsorship deal threat of relegation. Additionally, there is threat of disqualification from all competitions by UEFA so the club decided to cover up the debt by offering luxury houses in exchange for their unpaid wages.
In a statement released by the general manager of the club, Sergey Kernitskiy, he said:
‘We are offering houses and real estate property near the sea to players to cover salary debts. Costs of those houses are around £67,000.
‘We still have debts to top players who have already left the club, and in order to avoid disqualification from UEFA and relegation to lower league of Ukrainian football championship, they have to be paid.’
FC Chernomorets currently occupies the 11th position in the 14-team league in Ukraine.
