
American photographer, Aric Hendrix, is suing Vanity Fair for $1m over a famous photo of late actress and model, Marilyn Monroe, according to TMZ.
Hendrix, who is a collector of historical photos, stated the photo was taken by him and thus, he owns the original and its negative.
Now, he is accusing Vanity Fair of using without seeking permission.
The photo in question was taken during then US president, John F. Kennedy‘s 45th birthday celebration at Madison Square Garden.
According to TMZ, the photo was used inside a special Marilyn-themed edition of the magazine published in July 2016.
