Nigerian forward, Peter Osaze Odemwingie has revealed he will be coming back better and stronger after undergoing successful knee surgery on Tuesday, September 23, 2014.
Speaking with BBC Sport, The Stoke City striker who suffered the injury in Stoke’s 1- 0 win against Manchester City on Sunday, August 30, 2014, was happy to announce the successful surgery carried out on him.
‘I’m happy the operation was successful, it’s like a new beginning, I want to come back stronger than ever and hopefully pick up from where I stopped in August.
‘I know it’s going to be a long road back to kicking a football again but I am mentally prepared for that. You can’t keep a good man down’
Odemwingie became a professional player with Nigeria Premier League side, Bendel Insurance where he scored 19 goals in 53 league appearances from 2002 to 2002 before moving to Europe where he has had a fairly successful career.
