The day you become a celebrity or a superstar your private life becomes a mystery to the media. A mystery that constantly needs to be untied. That private life you cherish and guard is always a subject matter of interest to the media.
If Tiwa Savage had granted an interview about her new video, would it have trended like the video of her famed marriage crisis ? You already know the answer.

Being in the limelight isn’t just about showing off fancy clothes on the red carpet, it also means that you have traded your privacy for prominence. The best you can do is to make sure you don’t have a scandal the media can feast on.
Celebrities need to understand that the media is first a business and in business volume and sales play a huge role. It’s a business and not a charity organization. Most fans are not necessarily interested in your latest hit songs or blockbuster movie, they are fascinated by controversies (the demons in your wardrobe). That is the way the human mind works.

Do you know how many YouTube views the Tiwa Savage interview has garnered? If Zinnia (TV presenter) had asked Omawumi questions pertaining to her awards and hit songs would she have stormed out of the interview session?

When I conduct interviews what I do is to dig out the unknown, not to keep asking questions that will emanate from the lips of a primary one student. It’s the responsibility of a true journalist to dig out issues and ask probing questions.
If you can’t withstand the heat in the kitchen, you better go and use firewood. It’s what you signed up for. Deal with it and save us from unnecessary drama.
Whatever you do becomes news, even your silence. No one can force you to answer a question you don’t want to answer. I won’t be surprised if Nigerian entertainers start storming out of interviewing sessions whenever they are being asked questions that doesn’t tickle their fancy.
Count the cost before becoming dramatic!
