The release of ‘The Matrix’ 18 years ago in 1999 left everyone awestruck by the special effects in it.
Most of all, the scene where Neo – played by Keanu Reeves – dodges bullets from an agent remains iconic.

Now, Warner Bros. studio say a reboot is in the works according to The Hollywood Reporter.
While it remains to be seen who will play the lead character, Michael B. Jordan‘s name has been suggested, though nothing is finalised.

Also, the Wachowski brothers who wrote and directed the original are not involved in this new project for now.
That said, Reeves recently stated he would be open to returning for another instalment, only if the brothers were involved.

According to the actor in an interview with Yahoo Movies while promoting John Wick: Chapter 2, ‘They [Wachowski brothers] would have to write it and direct it. And then we’d see what the story is, but yeah, I dunno, that’d be weird, but why not?’
The Matrix became the highest grossing R-rated film of 1999 in North America, and the fourth-highest grossing film of the year worldwide.

It also won four Academy Awards and spurned two sequels; Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolution.
So what do you think? Would you love to see the movie remade or should the studios find something else to do?
