Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde on Saturday, June 7, 2014 lost out on the Personality of the Year award at the MTV Africa Music Awards.
Omotola lost to Oscar winning actress, Lupita Nyong’O who also beat writer, Chimamanda Adichie and footballer, Yaya Toure.
While speaking to NET about her nomination a few weeks ago, she said the nomination was as good as winning it and that she wouldn’t be bothered if she lost.
She is the first Nollywood actress to be nominated since the award began seven years ago.
