President of the United State of America, Barrack Obama has condemned the killing of 147 students of Garissa University College by Somalia –based Al-Shabaab militant group.
In a statement released by White House press secretary, Josh Earnest, the President extends his condolence saying: ‘We extend our deep condolences to the families and loved ones of all those killed in this heinous attack, which reportedly included the targeting of Christian students, our thoughts and prayers also are with the many injured’.
The president also promised to provide assistance to the Kenyan Government combat the terrorist group.
‘The United States is providing assistance to the Kenyan Government, and we will continue to partner with them as well as with others in the region to take on the terrorist group al-Shabaab. The United States stands with the people of Kenya, who will not be intimidated by such cowardly attacks.’
Barack Obama whose father is a native of Kenya is scheduled to visit the country in July, 2015.
