OAU student dies prior to exam

48 hours to the commencement of the first semester exam of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, a student was announced dead with two others sustaining injuries in an autocrash.

The 200-level student of Public Administration, Semilore Amoo and two of his other colleagues, Sunday Eyitayo and Ganiyu Azeez were travelling in  a Toyota Corolla with registration number GNN 143 AA to Osogbo when the car summersaulted along Sir Adesoji Aderemi Road, Ile-Ife  and Amoo who was behind the wheel died instantly.

The Punch learnt from eyewitnesses that the deceased who was buried on Sunday in Osogbo might have died due to over-speeding. One of the survivors, whose father owns the car, Tayo, said Amoo wanted to go and collect some materials for his examination which started on Monday, when they had the accident.

The Chief Security Officer of  OAU, Paul Ogidi, confirmed the incident.
