#AMHush killing explained… or something like that.
It is the most watched Nigerian show on TV right now and the reason is obvious.
Asides from the fact that it is a well scripted show and the actors are good, it jarred Nigerians the way they’re only used to with foreign shows.
Don’t get me wrong, there are MANY good shows in Nigeria. And I do like some of these shows – when I watch TV in friend’s houses ’cause I don’t have TV.
However, Hush a.k.a #AMHush did something the other people didn’t seem to have the nerve to dare; they kill!
Do I support this?
Hell naw.
I wanted Arinola Cardoso (played by Thelma Okoduwa) to live!
Whether or not she was a believable actress is another thing. But me, I liked that character and I wanted her around more.
Magnus, I didn’t care that he died but the most recent one, Shadow’s death still haunts me like a shadow.
And because I know there are other fans like me bleeding and fuming, I figured out why our guys had to go.
Cue in the sad music guys, it’s about to be blue.
Hold on, can the music be Westlife’s ‘Angel’s Wings’? Nah, it’s not for dead people. But it has angel and wings. Now, let’s move on.
We will start with Arinola Cardoso.
In the 85th episode of Hush, Arinola Cardoso did the unbelievable – she died.
Why I think she died? Her time was up. C’est finis. No more.
The show’s tagline is, ‘nothing is as it seems’. So no, this show was not about a female governorship aspirant which is what we were seeing.
It was about what was going to happen when a female governorship aspirant who is driven, dies. And that was what happened. Okay, maybe not. Guys, just like the rest of you, I don’t know.
Magnus
This guy’s death was wanted. But still sha, we missed him. And it cemented that fact that nobody or nothing was safe.
He died, we missed him small. But we could take his own death. Because he had it coming.
Nori
It is probably only Tes who genuinely misses his mother. But still, fans were reminded how crazy this show is. Already referred to Nigeria’s Game of Thrones, because of the killings of course, some of us were hoping she’d get away with murder.
But she didn’t. And that reason is obvious.
Tokunbo
Probably the least missed on this list, Tokunbo is one of the earliest deaths on the show which happened in the hands of the show’s lead, Bem Tsenogu.
Tokunbo died, we did not cry but we knew what our main guy was capable of.
Adrianna
I don’t know why she had to go to be honest. She was a character with mental health and her presence was bringing to people’s notice a situation we don’t like to talk about in Nigeria.
Still she did die and no, this one is not understood.
Shadow
Shadow’s death is shocking. Nobody saw it coming. And that is why it is one of the most painful deaths on Hush. We knew it was dangerous for him doing all that ‘fall guy’ work.
But still, having him die in the hands of that prof was tragic. We knew it was the downside of the job; we know that is the explanation. But still, his death still haunts us.
