Speaking at the women’s gathering with the First Lady of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan in Abuja, held last weekend, Onwenu says the ‘terrorists’ want to ‘cause confusion’ between the people and their Government.
‘What the terrorist want is to cause disaffection between the Nigerian people and their government. What they are trying to achieve is to instil fear in us, confusion and for us to be gathering and cowering in corners. We are Nigerian women, we do not cower, we do not fear but we gather and come up with solutions’, Onwenu stressed.
She also shared her thoughts on solving the matter;
‘So let this be known, that together we stand in unity under your leadership (looking at Patience Jonathan), that we can do this, working in truth and sincerity’, she added.
The April 14 abduction of over 200 girls has reached global attention with the US agreeing to help in the rescue of the kidnapped girls. Fresh reports say France and China have also expressed their willingness to help.
