
Popular Abuja based music producer, Manpi Okune is dead.
28-year-old Manpi, a graduate of University of Calarbar, died in the early hours of September 21, 2016 in a hospital in Gwagwalada, Abuja after complaining of a stomach ache.
Thenetng gathered that Manpi had complained of stomach ache before he started vomiting and excreting blood which ultimately led to his death.
Narrating his last days to Thenetng, his close friend and rapper, Makanjuola Seun otherwise known as Bigmaxx says, ‘the hospital said he had chronic ulcer.’
He added, ‘Manpi fell sick a few weeks back, he went to the hospital and discovered he had High Blood Pressure. He was treated and was ok afterwards until a few days ago when he went out with some friends, they got back at night, slept and when they woke up they went to the studio, made music. Then at some point in the evening, he complained of constipation, he took some drugs and still kept complaining, then he started vomiting and stooling something that looked blackish‘.
He continued to say, ‘at that point they didn’t know it was blood until they rushed him to the hospital in Gwagwalada, Abuja where he was diagnosed of chronic ulcer. He was receiving treatment in the hospital before he died‘.
Before his death, Manpi was a popular producer in Abuja who has worked with acts like Magnito, Kayshanor, Brown Sugar, Bigmaxx and others.
His parents we learn are extremely devastated by his death and at the moment, his burial plans have not been confirmed.
