The Super Eagles of Nigerian began preparations for the 2013 Africa Nations Cup last night, December 2, 2012 by holding the Catalonia side that included seven Barcelona FC players to a 1-1 draw.
The home side got the lead as early as the third minute with Sergio Gonzalez converting a penalty kick into a goal after Fengor Ogude handled the ball in the box. Nigeria however got an equaliser through US-based Bright Dike in the 55th minute.
The match was played at the Cornella-El Prat Stadium, Barcelona, Spain. The likes of Barcelona FC stars Carlos Puyol, Xavi Hernandez and Gerard Pique thrilled spectators.
Nigeria was awarded a trophy for their good performance in the game.
