
In its bid to curb the ugly menace of smuggling along our borders, the Nigerian Customs of the Sokoto/Kebbi/Zamfara Area Command intercepted a truck loaded with 1,200 25kg bags of smuggled rice with a duty paid value of N14,380,800.
The truck with registration number XC 444 SKK, was intercepted along Ilella Road in Mamman Suka, Sokoto State.
While addressing journalists on the seizure, the Comptroller, Nasir Ahmed, expressed the Command’s readiness to curb the ugly menace of Smuggling.
Ahmed stressed the need for compliance with government fiscal policies on trade as it is targeted at improving the economy of the country.
