On October 10, 2013 Pop singer and one half of the Psquare brothers Peter Okoye gave a special lecture to a set of new recruits at a Central Bank of Nigeria seminar. Reports say Okoye was invited to motivate the new employees while sharing his success story as a Pop star.
Many have asked what a singer has got to do with employees hired to work at the CBN other than performing at the company’s ‘End of Year’ party.
We’ll tell you why…
Along with his twin brother, Peter Okoye has released five chart-topping albums, won multiple awards, sold out concerts, gained international recognition and become a household name in and outside Nigeria. How else do you spell success?
Any successful businessman would be proud of Peter Okoye (who has spent over a decade in the Nigerian music industry) and his team for being able to create and manage wealth for this long. In an era where some musicians fall of as fast as they rise to the top, Psquare still stand strong with enough financial capital to arguably oust any other artiste in the country.
It’s part of the #NewRules idea US rapper-entrepreneur Jay Z has been preaching for the past few months; entertainers can now be seen as a new breed of ‘badge wearing successful people’ who can inspire a generation and the next.
So big thumbs up to Peter and his brother Paul….don’t forget Jude too.
