The 19th edition of the annual New York African Film Festival kicked off on April 11, 2012 at the Lincoln Center in New York.
Films from several African countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Algeria, Morocco and others are expected to be screened during the week long festival.
The festival, themed ‘Homecoming’ will focus on works from Africa, and by Africans, in a bid to ‘give Africans a voice in the global discussion about their home countries’, according to organisers.
The Film festival will run until April 17, 2012. It will feature more than a dozen films centered on a wide range of African topics and countries.
