He won an NEA award for the best US-based Male Artiste in 2011 and his buzz seems to be getting bigger and bigger. Rotimi who hails from New Jersey but is of Nigerian descent describes himself as a ‘modern day renaissance man’; he sings, writes songs and acts.
Born to a Yoruba father and Igbo mother, Rotimi performed at the Apollo Theater and won at the age of 16. He released an Ep titled ‘The Resume‘ earlier this year which includes the single ‘Bottles’ which featured US rapper Gucci Mane.
‘Without you‘ which features B Madision is nothing shot of a ballad. Rotimi shows maturity with his vocals, he switch from lower to higher notes isn’t out of the ordinary but is commendable.
