After two successful albums ‘Get Serious‘ and ‘Elevated‘, J Martins rose to the top highlife musicians in the country. Coupled with his production credits for a host of Nigerian and other African acts, J Martins is a very well-to-do act in the country.
Another brilliant aspect of the singer/producers work is his ability to blend well with other acts. Peep the roll call – Timaya, Psquare, Bracket, Illbliss and most recently Congo DR‘s hitmaker Fally Ipupa. With a new album ‘Da Good Life‘ almost out, his fresh new singles tell us a bit of what to expect…
J Martins and Cabo Snoop? The combination sounds weird but both acts prove us wrong with ‘Good tym’ – the club swaying joint. Filled with a little calypso flavour, J Martins auto-tuned voice and Cabo Snoop’s chanting just sync in.
On the Fally Ipupa assisted ‘Kele Papa‘, Fally and Martins re-live their ‘Jupa remix’ feel as the beat sounds quite similar. Despite the similarity, it’s still a tune to vibe to. J Martins trademark guitar strings is the perfect recipe for another ‘feel good’ music.
