There’s nothing like a comeback story, it’s just the right template for an artiste to make a brilliant return to the music scene.
Kunle Bello better known as KB (Kaboom) was a member of Trybesmen, the defunct super rap group with co-members eLDee da Don and Freestyle. The trio rose to fame towards the late ’90s with hits like ‘Shake body‘ and ‘Plenty nonsense‘.
But with label squabbles and creative differences, the very creative trio parted ways; eLDee sticking to his music, Freestyle following suit, both releasing albums while KB going into oblivion.
He’s back now with two singles which will impress the average listener and more so excite any Tyrbesmen fan.
‘Re-intro‘ has KB bringing back the Trybesmen feel. The bumpy tune sees him rhyming eloquently on an Ebenezer Obey sample. KB expresses his current dilemma about recognition he isn’t getting as compared to his former group members.
‘Dem dey mad‘, a definite club starter will have heads bumping right from the intro of the song. KB playfully raps on the bumpy tune, leaving all matters of seriousness in the background.
While some acts make comebacks by trying to copy current trends which they eventually end up not doing well, KB sticks with his original style and does a good job at it. Only time will tell if he can take it to the next level.
