Hip-hop head honcho Elajoe can be classified not only as a pioneering hip-hop act in Nigeria but also as a definition of the culture itself. Right from his very days in Enugu, meeting up with other pioneers B-Elect, Illbliss, Obiwon and his sister Amaka to form the rap alliance The Thorobreds till this very moment, Mr. Dark Cypha as he is fondly called keeps it ‘real’ to the letter.
‘Mr. Power Moves‘ shows Elajoe’s lyrically natural state – Boom bap rap. Teaming up with veteran disc jockey DJ Jimmy JATT who provides the right scratches, Ela dishes out superb throwback lines as he shares his journey of hip-hop through the ’90s till now.
