On Monday, June 20, 2022, Nigeria Entertainment Today (NETng) announced the sixth edition of NET Honours with the addition of 15 new categories, including Most Popular BBNaija Fandom.

Announcing the nominees on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, Liquorose, the fans base of BBNaija season six first-runner, Roseline Omokhoa Afije, was nominated alongside Money Gang, the fandom of Hazel ‘Whitemoney’ Onou, winner of the season six show.
Since BBNiaja debuted in 2006 and its return in 2017, the show has become one of Nigeria’s must-watch reality TV shows, turning housemates into instant celebrities.
Titans, the fandom of Anita Natacha Akide, known by fans of Big Brother Naija as Tacha, was equally nominated alongside her fellow housemate from the fourth edition of the show, Mercy Eke. With 3.3 million Instagram followers, Tacha is one of the most popular housemates from the show’s season four, gaining more popularity after she was ejected from the house. Mercy Eke, who became the first woman to win the show when she won the fourth edition in October of 2019, enjoys wide media attention and fan admiration. Icons, the fandom of Laycon, the winner of 2021 of the show, was nominated along with Erica Nlewedim’s Elites.
Using data for NET Honours, sourced from a comprehensive database of over eight million users who have engaged with Netng via the websites, social media accounts, and email newsletters, these housemates enjoyed the most fandom within the last 12 months calendar period.
