Genoveva Umeh has been voted the Breakout Actress of the Year at NET Honours Class of 2022 beating Teniola Aladese, Segilola Ogidan and Ego Nwosu.
For the first time in NET Honours history, 15 new categories were added and fans were allowed to vote to choose the winners in these categories.
NET Honours is an annual people’s choice award presented to deserving individuals in the Nigerian entertainment industry with verified data from Netng via the web and social.
Umeh rose to prominence when he starred in Blood Sisters where she acted as Timileyin, a drug addict. She defeated Aladese, Ogidan and Nwosu who starred in Loving Amanda, A Naija Christmas and Fine WIne respectively.
She scored more than 60.1% of the votes while Aladese got 21.1% of the votes. Nwosu scored 11.6%, while Ogidan scored 7.3% of the votes.
