Over 35 persons have been reportedly confirmed dead in a stampede as people were rushing to grab fake dollars thrown from the balcony of a building during the New Year’s celebrations in the Shanghai city, China.
According to reports, China’s state-run Xinhua News Agency confirmed that at least another 42 people have been injured and have been taken to the Shanghai General Hospital.
The deaths and injuries occurred in Chen Yi Square, in city’s waterfront Bund area, which attracted over 300,000 who visited the venue early on Thursday, Janaury 1, 2014.
