Members of Somali extremist rebel group, Al-Shabab have killed 28 passengers who could not recite an Islamic creed and were assumed to be non-Muslims in Kenya.
The gunmen reportedly attacked a bus in northern Kenya at dawn on Saturday, November 22, 2014, identifying and killing 28 passengers who could not recite an Islamic creed and were assumed to be Christians.
According to reports, Al-Shabab has claimed responsibility for the brutal attack through its radio station in Somalia, saying it was in retaliation for raids by Kenyan security forces carried out earlier this week on four mosques at the Kenyan coast.
Speaking on the incident, one of the Muslim passengers, Ahmed Mahat confirmed the brutal killing in a tear-jacking manner.
‘When we got down, passengers were separated according to Somali and non-Somalis, ‘the non-Somalis were ordered to read some verses of the holy Koran, and those who failed to read were ordered to lie down. One by one they were shot in the head at point blank range.’
