On Tuesday, November 24, claiming it strayed into its airspace and then ignored several warnings, Turkey shot a Russian fighter jet down.
In reaction, Russian President Vladimir Putin described the incident which left one pilot dead as a ‘stab in the back’ which would have ‘serious consequences.’
