Prosecutors say they could drag a mother and her boyfriend to court after she allegedly left her four young children all by themselves, and in an apparently dangerous situation.
Racquel Thompson did not inform her grandmother she was leaving her Houston house on November 16, with the kids all alone…to go grab some pizza with her boyfriend.
One of the children, a three-year-old, allegedly put J’zyra, their baby sister, inside the family oven. Another three-year-old sibling then turned it on ‘to make it hot.’
The three-year-olds told the police that was what happened, reports say.
Yes, their baby sister is dead.
According to court documents ABC News said it saw, the 19-month-old girl desperately tried to kick the oven door while inside but could not escape.
Racquel attempted to resuscitate the toddler when she returned but the child had already died.
She could be charged with negligent murder, reports say. But no charges have been filed yet.
Racquel said it was not the first time she left the kids all by themselves. She used to leave them by themselves whenever she had to drive her boyfriend to work, court documents say.
Racquel’s ex-boyfriend and father of the two three-year-olds who allegedly put their sister in the oven, Fredrick Price, said he’s looking for his children.
‘I need to know where they are, I haven’t heard from my children in months,’ said Price.
‘I’ve been trying to contact Racquel.’
He thought one of his daughters was the one roasted in the oven’s heat.
‘She was a cute little baby, I just didn’t know if that was my daughter or not,’ he said.
