You may have heard that the fuel scarcity currently being witnessed in Nigeria would persist until May.
The piece of information has been attributed to Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu.
But the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, on Wednesday debunked the news saying it was doing everything possible ‘to end the noticeable fuel queues in most parts of the country in the weeks ahead.’
In a release, the NNPC claimed that Kachikwu’s ‘benign and sincere assessment of the fuel supply scenario during a brief chat with State House Correspondents’ in Abuja was misinterpreted.
The NNPC assured that efforts were in full gear to remove everything thing blocking the free flow of petrol across the country.
It apologized to Nigerians for the recent hardship in assessing petroleum products and assured them of ‘normalization of the fuel supply and distribution system in the weeks ahead.’
