CEO of Smooth Promotions and Hip Hop World Magazine, Ayo Animashaun, has rubbished reports about a top member of staff of the media establishment, Josephine Agwu, who was erroneously reported to have returned some money while working as a cleaner at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport days ago.
According to reports widely circulated via several websites and blogs, Josephine Agwu, who purportedly works with a concessionaire at the airport, returned the sum of N12m to the security unit of the airport after it was left behind by a passenger.
The reports, believed to have emanated from evening newspaper, PM News and reported by National Mirror, Newswatch Times and several others, state that the said cleaner earns N7, 800 monthly but took the bag containing $27,000 adding up to a total of N12m, to the authorities upon coming across the bag.
Identified as an OND holder in Accounting, some of the reports even published her photo and quoted the manager of the Lagos airport, Nathaniel Auta and the Chief Security Officer, Colonel Carl Onalo (retired), as confirming the incident.
Since the reports surfaced and went viral on social media, several persons have tweeted about the matter, with no less a personality like former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili and several others commenting on the reported good deed.
But in an Instagram post yesterday, February 25, 2015, the HipTV boss posted a photo of himself with Josephine, denying the reports and describing them as fabricated and totally devoid of facts. According to Ayo Anumashaun, Josephine is not just a degree holder but a senior manager in charge of Human Resources at Smooth Promotions.
A source close to the woman said she has been totally embarrassed by the reports as several people have been calling her regarding the reports, leaving her and her family members depressed. So peeved is Josephine with the inaccurate reports that she is thinking of pursuing a case against those who published the reports.
