NET Newspaper Limited has announced the appointments of Gbenga Bada as the acting editor and Adedayo Odulaja as the assistant editor of The Nigerian Entertainment Today.
The new editors’ appointments took effect on July 31, 2014.
According to a statement from NET Newspaper Limited, Bada, who edits Movie Moments, has been contributing to the Newspaper since August 2013.
Bada will also manage the content generation and production of the Newspaper, while Adedayo Odulaja will work in generating the website’s daily content, as well as attracting traffic and supervising reporters/contributors from all over the world.
Gbenga Bada began his career in journalism at the age of 22 after joining Independent Communications Network Limited in 2005, where he worked with popular evening newspaper, PM News. He spent a year there before moving to Fame Weekly Magazine and later, First Weekly Magazine. His dexterity and diligence was quickly noticed by former editor of Saturday Independent, Olumide Iyanda, who took him under his tutelage and helped him hone his writing and reportorial skills for three years.
After leaving Saturday Independent Newspapers, the wordsmith and journalist, who had gained prominence among his peers and senior colleagues, earned himself a spot as the entertainment writer for THISDAY on Saturday before leaving for a stint with The Sunday Sun.
On quitting his stint at Sunday Sun, Bada went into partnership with two investors to kick off Movie Moments Limited, owners of a wholly Nollywood media and awards website, www.momo.com.ng. Six months later, he became a weekly contributor for NET Newspapers after Movie Moments Limited went into partnership with Nigerian Entertainment Today.
Adedayo Odulaja, a writer, journalist and film critic, began his journalism career as a staff writer at Xcel International Magazine in 2008. Before then, he worked as a researcher with GEM Communications Resources upon finishing the mandatory NYSC in early 2008, vastly contributing and working as Assistant Sub-Editor of A Compendium of the Nigerian Judiciary published by Ikeja branch of NBA that year.
He joined Independent Newspapers Limited, publishers of Daily, Saturday and Sunday Independent titles in January 2009, from where he joined Nigerian Entertainment Today.
Other appointees include Senior Correspondents, Olamide Jasanya and Adedayo Showemimo, formerly of City People Magazine and THISDAY Newspaper.
