Residents of Lagos should get ready to be thrilled as MTV Live debuts in the country. MTV Live, which happens to be music channel MTV’s project, is a new live music night event that will see African artistes entertain their fans as they perform live on stage with a band and backup dancers.
The first edition of MTV Live will hold on Friday, April 1, 2011 at the exquisite club, Tribeca and will not only feature Nigerian music star 2face Idibia but also hi-life singer J Martins and Congolese superstar and MTV MAMA winner, Fally Ipupa.
The theme of the first edition of MTV Live is ‘Choose or Lose’ which is centered on the efforts of MTV’s campaign in mobilizing Nigerian youths to go out and vote in the forthcoming April elections.
‘Rep 4 Najia’, the MTV sponsored video, which features collaborative efforts from Naeto C, D’Banj, Black Twang, Sound Sultan, eLDee and M.I will also be screened at the event.
Popular DJs on the wheels that night will be DJ Humility, DJ Caise and Cool DJ Jimmy JATT.
