Hollywood star actor, Morris Chestnut is expected to lead some of his colleagues as star guests at this year’s African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) scheduled to take place in Lagos, Nigeria.
This was disclosed to the media during a world press conference held at Ikeja, Lagos on April 11, 2012 by the organisers of the awards which is now in its eight edition.
The 43-year-old actor, in company of fellow Hollywood actress Lynn Whitfield, will shore up the glamour of the event which is scheduled to hold at the Expo Centre of Eko Hotels on April 22, 2012.
CEO of AMAA, Peace Anyiam Osigwe, while expressing delight at the situation also stated that super star singer, 2face and Nigerian soul music export, Asa would also be providing musical entertainment at the event.
‘For the caliber of event AMAA now is, we felt that we should give it the standard treatment it deserves, which is also one of the reasons we moved from Bayelsa to Lagos. I think it’s great we are having these people around and one can expect a total night of fun at the awards‘.
Comperes confirmed for Africa’s prestigious awards ceremony include Haitian born international actor, Jimmy Jean Louis as well as fast rising Nigerian movie star OC Ukeje.
The African Movie Academy Awards, popularly known as AMAA, is presented annually to recognize excellence of professionals in the African film industry, including directors, actors, and writers.
