Despite City’s bright start with a 25th minute goal from De Bruyne, the host bounced back after equalizing in the final minutes of the first half with an impressive finish by Eric Dier. The 2nd half of the match however proved to be against City as Spurs quickly doubled their goals with a 50th minute strike by Toby Alderweireld. Other goals came from Harry Kane (61st minute) and Erik Lamela (79th).
This 4-1 defeat is Manchester City’s 3rd loss in 4 matches. The EPL contenders lost at home twice to Juventus and West Ham United before bouncing back with an away victory against Sunderland on Tuesday.
