Popular singer, songwriter and producer Maleek Berry decided to take to X to lecture artists and fans on his status as a forefather in the sound of Afrobeats.
The producer took to his X profile today to express his feelings on the soundscape and his influence, taking matters into his own hands and giving himself his flowers.
In a post made around noon today, he said ” Because say I no dey talk no mean say I no be una forefather for this sound”

He also proceeded to highlight that he dropped his EP Last Daze Of Summer in September 2016 and the formula and template he laid down eight years ago is still in vogue and in use by the popping artists of today.
He addressed himself as the real blueprint and asked that nobody come for him.

A fan replied to Maleek claiming Wizkid made him to which he responded “That’s my brother, but God made me nigga”
It’s quite unclear where the outbursts are coming from and why so randomly, but one can only assume they are related to an announcement he made on his X profile a while ago where he said he’s about to be active in the next few months.

After a series of accolades as a producer, Maleek Berry had the entire country in a chokehold with hits like Kontrol, Been Calling, Pon My Mind, Let Me Know, Eko Miami, Bend It, and Juice with YCee amongst others through the 2017 to 2019 period of Afrobeats.
His influence and achievements can not be understated and but may be underappreciated.
