She’s done the almost impossible by winning an Oscar this year but Lupita Nyong’O might have met her toughest opposition yet as she battles some of Africa’s finest for her first MTV Award.
The Kenyan actress is up for ‘Personality of the Year‘ at this year’s MTV Africa Music Awards, but will have to slug it out with fellow heavyweight nominees such as Nigerian star actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and revered writer Chimamanda Adichie.
Other nominees in the group include South African comedian Trevor Noah and Ivory Coast’s star footballer Yaya Toure.
The awards will hold on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at the Durban International Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa
