
As we approach the end of the year and the award season in Nigeria, rapper Olamide has expressed his feeling as regards unnecessary sentiments attached to winning awards.
Like Burna Boy who said in 2015 that ‘Nigerian award organisers don’t like me’, Olamide made similar comments in his latest open letter.

In his words, ‘If they give me award or not it does not define me. God bless whoever wins any award. God bless the organizers for the initiative. Thanks for creating an avenue to commend us for our works‘.
Olamide goes on to say, ‘This doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate all the awards I’ve been given or the people that voted. I do but please let’s not devalue ourselves as humans and stop letting material things determine how we see others or love and respect them‘.
