Top corporate organisations and government parastatals including NEXIM Bank, SLOT and the Aruma Oteh-led Securities and Exchange Commission, SEC, have signified their intention to partner the organisers of the Legend of Nollywood awards.
With a mission to provide health insurance for all winners and past winners, founder of the awards ceremony, Paul Obazele recently said: ‘This insurance scheme is sponsored by the Securities and Exchange Commission, NEXIM Bank, SLOT and CAG Motors among others. The planning committee is also in touch with governors of the states of the honourees on the possibility of availing the awardees of other benefits.’
Now in its 3rd edition, the annual awards ceremony is aimed at recognising and honouring great individuals that have shaped the Nigerian movie industry and is scheduled to hold on December 6 2014 at the Banquet hall of the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
Organisers of the awards have also disclosed that the 2014 edition of the awards ceremony is planned as a three-day ceremony, spanning from December 4 to 6, 2014.
According to Obazele, activities will kick off on December 4, 2014 and December 5, 2014 with an autograph signing event by some top Nollywood stars and a movie screening for the less privileged at the National Arts Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos while the grand finale will hold on December 6, 2014.
Veterans such as Soni Irabor, Bisi Olatilo, Patience Ozorkwor aka Mama G, Jide Kosoko, Oga Bello, Mama Awero, Pete Edochie, Taiwo Ajai Lycet and Ene Oloja are among those to be honoured this year.
