New York Post’s columnist Cindy Adams recently wrote a piece, titled ‘Inside Liza Minnelli and late David Gest’s wedding’, where she revealed that her friend Liza, brands her former husband an ‘a ** hole’.
The music producer was found dead at his suite in Four Seasons hotel in London on April 12, aged 62.
David and Liza got married in 2002 with late King of Pop Michael Jackson as best man, and American actress Elizabeth Taylor as maid of honour. They both had an unstable relationship and David claimed to be a victim of domestic violence when their 16-month marriage ended in 2003.
However, David’s friend Mark Lester recently reveals he suffered from amnesia caused by ex-wife Liza Minelli hitting him on the head with a shoe.
He told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: ‘He was crippled by amnesia and got in touch two weeks ago. He wanted to remember the happy times with Liza. Although their marriage was volatile and ended badly, he loved her.
‘But he said his memory had gone because of clashes in their relationship and being struck on the head by Liza’s stiletto.
‘He was frustrated, I feel sad I could not help him close the gaps.’
