C.E.O of Virtual Media Network Limited, Femi Aderibigbe, popularly known as Kwame, marked his 10th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, April 10, 2012.
The Nigezie boss shared the news via his facebook account, displaying his wife’s picture with the caption: ‘Happy 10th anniversary dear! See you at the 20th anniversary! Love, Femi!’
Kwame who spoke with NET exclusively, told us about his journey so far.’I feel great! It’s not been an easy journey, lots of challenges, lots of sacrifices, lots of giving and taking but we thank God. We are here today and we hope and pray that we live long enough to celebrate our 50th anniversary!’
Speaking on challenges within marriage, Kwame tells NET ‘We conquered so many challenges mostly by divine intervention. Many celebrities do not enjoy long unions and I can say there where loads of potentially relationship threatening issues that would have split us up but somehow, some way, we pulled through. My wife is blunt and very straight forward, she doesn’t harbour grudges and that is my kind of person. That is not a common quality these days and that is why i know we will keep pulling through all and overcoming all the challenges that may come our way in the years to come.’
Meanwhile, Kwame also just added a new channel, ‘Orisun‘ (meaning the source) for his Yoruba audience on the Star Times platform. According to him, ‘the indigenous Yoruba channel will mirror the lifestyle and culture of the Yoruba race via movies, soaps, documentaries, series, talk shows and a host of other programmes, hence it will portray the uniqueness of the Yoruba culture. The channel will serve as the source of high end quality Yoruba entertainment’.
As regards the broadcast platform for the rebirth of Nigezie and the launch of Orisun, Kwame said “the introduction of the digital terrestrial platforms in Nigeria has urged us to launch the 2 channels on the Star Times Platform. Nigezie broadcasts on Channel 128 while Orisun broadcasts on Channel 130′.
He also said there are plans to acquire satellite equipment ‘with which we’ll uplink our content to broadcasters all over the world at a minimum cost to them’. This, he says, will hopefully be accomplished before the end of June 2012.
