Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music Turns Official Label Under Island Def Jam

US rapper Kanye West‘s G.O.O.D Music has finally signed a exclusive worldwide agreement with Island Def Jam Music Group making it an official record label. The first act to be released under the new deal will be Detroit rapper and G.O.O.D Music signee Big Sean who recently released his debut work ‘Finally Famous‘.

G.O.O.D Music founded by Kanye West in 2004 has served a management and production company for artistes such as Kanye himself, rappers Common, Kid Cudi, R&B singer John Legend, Mr. Hudson and the newly signed D’banj and the entire Mo’Hits crew from Nigeria.

‘G.O.O.D. Music is an exciting new chapter in the long and successful association of Kanye West and Island Def Jam‘, says Barry Weiss, Chairman and COO of Universal Motown Republic Group and IDJMG.

Kanye who has played an instrumental role in the record label since he started producing for them in the early 2000’s will remain as an artiste under the label.

Island Def Jam Music Group was formed in 1999 when Universal Music Group merged two of its daughter companies, Island Records and Def Jam Recordings, to create a label group.
