Top Hollywood actor Ben Affleck has joined a growing list of celebrities world over who are calling for the arrest of Most Wanted Ugandan warlord, Joseph Kony.
The 39 year old actor recently declared that ‘Joseph Kony must be caught. His lieutenants must be brought to justice and the LRA abductees still in the bush – fighting against their will – must be rescued and rehabilitated.’
Campaign against the warlord who is believed to have committed atrocities with his milita army in Uganda, has been mounting, largely fuelled by the viral ‘Stop Kony’ video which has raised awareness on the ruthlessness of the leader of the outlawed Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).
‘Joseph Kony has been one of the most infamous and most wanted men in Africa for decades,’ the actor and activist wrote on the website for his humanitarian organization, Eastern Congo Initiative.
‘His vicious cruelty has caused untold pain over the last twenty years. Because of Invisible Children, (the organization credited with producing the documentary) a hundred million more people in North America now know his story.’
Benjamin Géza Affleck-Boldt is an Academy award winning American actor and has been actively involved in politics and charitable causes.
