Jennifer Lawrence scores first UK top 40 single with Hunger Games track, ‘The Hanging Tree.’
‘The Hanging Tree’ is currently at the 29th spot of the U.K. song chart, according to mid-week sales figures from the Official Charts Company.
The track’s position will not be confirmed until Sunday, November 30, 2014.
Fighting for the top spot of the U.K. Top 40 are Jason Orange‘s ‘These Days’, which sold 351,000 copies so far, and the charity single ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’ by various artists which claimed the top spot last week.
The third Hunger Games instalment took more than £12.6 million in the UK after its release in cinemas last Thursday.
The hit film franchise is based on Suzanne Collins’ bestselling dystopian novel series that has sold more than 65 million copies in the US alone.
The final movie, Mockingjay Part 2, will be released in November 2015.
