Last night, amidst claims that by 5 different women that James Franco had sexually harassed them, the actor won the ‘Best Actor in a comedy’ award at the Critics’ Choice Awards. The actor was however not present to receive the award he had won for his role in the ‘Disaster Artist’. Instead, Walton Goggins collected the award on his behalf, thanked the audience and said James couldn’t be there so we accept it.
The actor has however continued to claim that he is innocent of all accusations against him. He was even as of Sunday at the Golden Globes wearing the ‘Time’s up’ lapel pin.
In his insistence that he had done nothing wrong, the actor told Seth Meyers during an interview that “The ones I read were not accurate, but one of the things that I’ve learned is that this is a conversation that obviously needs to be had. There are people, women, and others, who have not been a part of this conversation. I truly believe, and why I was wearing the pin, is that they need to be a part of this conversation. I support them.”
