Photos showing a very sick Dora Akunyili have surfaced on the internet with reports suggesting that the former National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) Director General and one-time Minister of Information is battling Cancer.
The pictures of Akunyili were taken at the on-going National Confab in Abuja (where she is a delegate). The 59-year-old has lost a lot of weight and looks quite sick.
It is being reported that she was admitted at a hospital in the country’s capital during this period.
Akunyili is yet to make a statement over her current health condition, even as the media is now awash with reports of her rapidly deteriorating health, and return to a foreign hospital.
There are unconfirmed reports she may be battling cancer, but nothing is certain yet, as many Nigerians pray for her quick recovery.
