According to the festival director, Victor Okhai: ‘In-Short, which is the first short film festival in Nigeria and south of the Sahara, was designed as a developmental and discovery platform for the hidden talents in the movie industry. Since it started four years ago, some of the past winners like Tope Oshin, foremost female director and Fola Iwajomo amongst others have since had bigger opportunities and since gone on to win international laurels for Nigeria in the global scene.
The festival has also attracted film makers and entries from all over the world and is today the leading short film festival on the continent.’
A special feature of this year’s festival is the support and partnership of Access Bank as part of its corporate social responsibility to emerging talents in the film sector and its continued support for the arts and culture sector.
The bank is resolved to partner with the festival from this edition to lift the standard of Nigerian films by supporting the festival’s efforts at discovering new talents and rewarding excellence.
